About Me

passport picture.jpg

My pottery is a little eclectic. I get an idea and develop it. I try using the same design on different forms and in different glazes. Then I get a new idea which is can be quite different from the one I was just working on. As time goes on I sometimes return to some earlier work, change it somewhat and repeat the process. Most of my work is pretty much one of a kind, although it often belongs to a “family”.

I love to carve my work and I love runny glazes that pool in different ways. Blues, greens, deep red and brown are my favorites. Sometimes I leave the glaze off part of the design, allowing the toasty brown stoneware to be seen.

All of my pots are made with glazes that are food safe, microwave safe and dishwasher safe. They can go in the oven as long as they start at room temperature and are placed in a cold oven.

I love throwing pots and decorating them. When I'm in the studio I am totally immersed in my work. For a little while I forget about the craziness of the world around me.

You can see and buy my work at the Loading Dock Gallery in Lowell, MA and also at the Carlisle Artisans in Carlisle, MA.  If you would like to contact me directly, you can contact me  here
